Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Alchex. We wrote them in plain language because terms you cannot read are terms you cannot follow — and because clarity is the product we sell. How we handle your data lives in our Privacy & Data Policy, which is part of this agreement.
Effective date: August 28, 2026.
1. Accepting these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Alchex, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Alchex", "we"). By creating an account or using Alchex you agree to them. If you are using Alchex on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization, and "you" means both you and it.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the service.
2. What Alchex is
Alchex is a governance and compliance workspace: documents, registers, evidence, controls, risks and audits in one place, with AI assistance for drafting, reviewing and auditing against the standards in your catalog.
Alchex assists your compliance work; it does not replace it. No output of the service is certification, audit assurance, or legal advice, and responsibility for your organization's compliance decisions stays with you.
3. Accounts and workspaces
You sign up with a real, current email address that you control. Temporary or disposable email addresses are not supported and are refused at signup.
Each account creates and owns one workspace. You may be invited into any number of other workspaces — that is how teams, consultants and auditors work together — but you do not create additional workspaces of your own.
Creating multiple accounts or workspaces to circumvent plan limits, free allowances, or any other restriction is prohibited and is grounds for suspension of the accounts and workspaces involved.
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Acceptable use
Use Alchex lawfully and as it is intended to be used. In particular, do not:
- upload content you have no right to store or share;
- probe, scan, overload, or otherwise test the security or capacity of the service without our written consent;
- resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as your own offering without an agreement with us;
- use automation to extract AI usage, content, or capacity beyond what your plan provides;
- use the service to build a competing product by systematically copying its outputs or behavior.
5. AI features and allowances
AI features run on a metered allowance that belongs to your workspace and depends on its plan and seats. When an allowance is spent, AI features pause until the allowance renews or the plan changes — the rest of the workspace keeps working.
AI output is a draft written by a machine. Review it before you rely on it: it can be incomplete or wrong, and your published documents, audit conclusions and compliance decisions are yours, not the model's.
6. Your content
Everything you put into Alchex — documents, registers, evidence, audit records — belongs to you. We take no ownership of it, and we use it only to operate and protect the service for you, as described in the Privacy & Data Policy.
You are responsible for having the rights to the content you upload and for its lawfulness.
7. Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed per workspace by seats and any additional capacity you choose. Plan limits — seats, storage, AI allowance — are enforced by the service itself, and current pricing is always what the billing page in your workspace shows.
We may change plans and pricing; changes apply from your next billing period, never retroactively.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Alchex at any time, and a workspace owner can close their workspace from its settings.
We may suspend or terminate accounts and workspaces that materially breach these terms — including the multi-account prohibition in section 3 — or that create a security or legal risk for the service or its customers. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you the chance to fix the problem, and we will not use suspension to hold your data hostage: our retention and return commitments in the Privacy & Data Policy survive termination.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work hard to keep Alchex fast and available, and we continuously improve it — features will evolve, and occasionally one is replaced by a better answer to the same need. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and scheduled maintenance may briefly interrupt the service.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Alchex is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
In particular: Alchex does not warrant that using the service will make your organization compliant with any standard, regulation, or contractual obligation — that outcome depends on your processes and decisions.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we will update this page and, for material changes, notify workspace owners in the product or by email before the change takes effect. Using the service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
